The statement below is attributable to Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet (Ret.), former acting administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA), Stanford University School of Medicine Professor Dr. Garry Nolan, and Dr. Peter Skafish, Executive Director of the Sol Foundation:
“Today’s historic document release builds on growing public acknowledgements from national security, intelligence, and scientific experts that the United States government possesses significant intelligence data and knowledge about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), including on some that are highly likely to be “nonanthropogenic vehicles.” In recent years, congressional hearings, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Department of War, and investigative reporters at The New York Times have shown that a significant number of American military pilots have encountered UAP and that advanced radar and other instruments, including space-based intelligence sensors, have yielded data confirming this. Now, the Department of War, following an order from President Donald Trump and requests from Representatives Anna Paulina Luna and Eric Burlison, has released to the public a trove of UAP documents that may provide further verification that humanity is not alone.
While today’s new step toward a full disclosure of government knowledge concerning UAP is welcome, many more need to be taken to bring an end to the decades of secrecy by which the American people were kept in the dark. The bipartisan UAP Caucus deserves specific credit for their years-long work to urge the Executive Branch to share the truth with the American people and their representatives in Congress. Most of all, the military and intelligence whistleblowers who came forward in recent years, despite unimaginable personal risk, are owed our gratitude for their courage and patriotism. The Sol Foundation recently proposed new legislation to support whistleblowers so that more Americans can share their knowledge about UAP without fear of retaliation.
We hope that today’s release will also encourage Congress to pass transparency legislation cosponsored in previous years by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Michael Rounds. Known as the UAP Disclosure Act (UAPDA), the legislation, which faced unwarranted opposition over the last three years, would force a thorough, multiyear review of classified UAP records and programs with the aim of providing Americans with the full truth about longstanding government knowledge and programs concerning technologies and vehicles not of human origin.”
“The Sol Foundation undertakes scientific and other academic inquiry into UAP. Our publications and public education work have helped establish the facts about the US government’s history of knowledge and engagements with UAP and defined their significance for science, society, and humanity. We will thoroughly review today’s documents, and look forward to sharing what we learn.” “Today’s historic document release builds on growing public acknowledgements from national security, intelligence, and scientific experts that the United States government possesses significant intelligence data and knowledge about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), including on some that are highly likely to be “nonanthropogenic vehicles.” In recent years, congressional hearings, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Department of War, and investigative reporters at The New York Times have shown that a significant number of American military pilots have encountered UAP and that advanced radar and other instruments, including space-based intelligence sensors, have yielded data confirming this.
